I am going to think of this as a digital journal where I can get my thoughts and feelings and experiences out. If you would like to join me for this ride, yayyyy. If you don't....suck my- never mind chile. ily ily ily

Top 10 Halloween Movies!

Im not too big on celebrating Halloween itself (maybe cuz I dont have the type of friends that really dress and have lil halloween parties idk 😵‍💫), but I still do love spooky szn. the candy, the halloween decorations, but ESPECIALLY the movies! I love me some classic halloween movies. So in the spirit of the holiday, I decided to list my top 10 favorite movies that gets my pumpkin juices flowing lol !

A Nightmare On Elm Street

Okay, im not ranking these but if I did....this would be top 3. I love almost (🐸☕️) every movie in this franchise. A Nightmare on Elm Street is one of my first core horror memories. Like watching A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors at one of the few sleepovers I went to and just falling in love with music scores and intense scenes, aghhhh I loved it. 11/10 would recommend...except maybe the second one lmaoo.

Halloween

This is a staple for Halloween. Like quite literally. Now I can't say that I remember or like EVERY single movie in this franchise cuz they've made 10,000 of them at this point (which they really should've stopped a while ago 🐸) I love Michael Myers. I love Jamie Lee Curtis, an iconic scream queen. She is queen fr. I enjoy quite a lottt.

Halloweentown

This is one of the many DCOMS on my list. A classic Disney Channel halloween movie that used to come on every October. The other movies in the franchise don't quite do the original justice (especially once they changed the actress who played Marnie) so thats why the first Halloweentown is my favorite. It was fun with a little mystery and drama. It had fun costumes and ofc amazing acting from the late and great Debbie Reynolds. I loved her character the most because she really cared for everyone so much and she reminded me a lot of my own grandmama who passed away some years ago. Im thankful for her role in the movie and the impact that she made in the entertainment industry. She will be forever missed.

Twitches

This is such an iconic movie like omg. The Mowry twins, the fashion, the songs, just legendary honestly. I love witches so this movie was always up my alley lol. What's even better is that the sequel was just as good, we love to see it. I really wish I had their necklaces. I always looked forward to seeing it every halloween season. 10/10 would recommend hunny.

The Haunted Mansion

This was a fun one. I love Eddie Murphy so it was no surprised that he killed this role. What I really like about this movie is that even tho its for kids, it still had some mature bits in it. It's really a movie that the whole family could watch. It such a comforting movie and brings nothing but positive memories from my childhood. Plus it had Jennifer Tilly!

Harry Potter

Okay, so this isn't technically a halloween movie or scary movie butttt it's very magical and has some mystery elements so I definitely thinks that counts lol. I don't think I have to explain why this franchise is good lol. Iconic.

Hocus Pocus

So this is a great movie. I personally think its a bit overrated but I do see why it's a cult classic. It's fun, and has amazing actresses, there's not much to not like tbh. I haven't seen the sequel yet but hopefully it does this justice.

Scream

Scream is another fantastic franchise that I enjoy a lot. I can definitely say that the first one is the best but the others ones a good too. It's just a cult classic at this point. I would even go as far as to say that its up there with A Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween, as far as cult classics in the thriller/horror genres lol. The ghost face mask is quite literally a significant prop in pop culture. Like when you see that mask, you know exactly what it's from. The actors in this movie are top tier. I mean like every one of them are stars. Skeet is fine Chile, Rose looks gorgeous, the 2.5 seconds that we see Drew Barrymore is one of the best opening scenes in cinematic history (I don't think i'm being dramatic here tbh) 10/10 would recommend

Thirteen Ghosts

Okay I dont think many people talk about this movie enough. It's a good lil thriller/horror movie. It has Matthew Lillard (who plays a significant role in Scream actually!!) , it has Tony Shalhoub, who I know as Monk (an iconic, a legend, he is the moment). It's fun! fun plot and fun ghosts. :))))) You can't go wrong with this movie honestly. Very underrated in my opinion.

Get Out

A new girl! She's the most recent movie thats come out on my list and it's already made such a cultural impact on everyone. So many direct and indirect topics and symbolism throughout the movie. It's not necessarily a halloween movie but it's definitely a thriller and gets people on the edge of their seats. Everyone in this movie put they whole foot in it. Daniel was perfect. Lil Rey was so funny. This movie really set off an explosion of Jordan Peele genius-ness and honestly, love that not only for him, but for the black community in general. I love seeing so many black actors on the big screen. He is really allowing so many new black actors to get their shot to break out in the industry and for us to be seen while also commenting on the black experience and I just love it . 12/10 would recommend.
